Articles on: Import VAT

Do you pay VAT twice on importing?

This depends on the value of the purchased goods. If the value exceeds £135, you might be charged VAT twice: once by the sender through an invoice, and the second time by the courier as VAT is due on import for all goods above £135. In this case, you need to ask the seller to send the invoice without VAT, as you'll be paying it through your courier.
